Meet the Owners

Nick and Jessie Jonkman are the proud owners of Nick's Equipment Sales and
the Wood Parts Factory. Nick originally established the business in the early 70's
as a service station, being an auto mechanic by trade. Around 1980 while being
shut down by sewer construction, Nick started to dabble into selling tools to the farm
trade and was soon into woodworking tools. Following the death of his first wife
in 1986, he continued to expand into the woodworking tools, eventually adding
wood parts, doll house supplies, and craft supplies to his growing business.
Following the marriage to his present wife Jessie in the fall of 1991, they have
continued to expand the business to it's present form.

Nick and Jessie depicted left, while
maintaining a small, thriving business,
have joined together in a common interest
of collecting antiques, primarily sewing
machines, old agricultural artifacts,
and service station equipment
and memorabilia.
Their home now includes a
Sewing Machine Museum.

Nick has served on the board of the International Cockshutt Club since it's
inception in 1989. A club dedicated to the preservation of Cockshutt farm
machinery. He has served as director and Canadian fund raising/treasurer,
magazine editor, Canadian club stores keeper, and recently retired as president.
Nick and Jessie were actively involved in the Egremont Road Heritage Days, which
celebrated the first road through Lambton County, connecting the Canadian
outpost at Errol Village and the garrison at London. Errol was responsible for the
protection of the western border of Upper Canada during the war of 1812.

Nick has served as president of the fledgling Canadian Sewing Machine
Collectors Society as well as editor of the Can-Sew Journal.
